Like most liberals, I must admit, there was a certain amount of joy to be had watching that clip of Ohio Congresswoman Jean Schmidt prematurely celebrating what she thought was the dismantling of the Individual Mandate. Shit, stuff like that has given me nothing but pleasure during the tenure of our first black President. Like all of those videos of white people crying solely because America elected a guy named Barack Obama – I swear that footage is the closest thing to pornography that you’ll ever find. So yeah, the schadenfreude boner that I got from watching that shitheel make a complete fool of herself could have broken through a pile of bricks. That said, I couldn’t enjoy that clip like everyone else because of the sinister ugliness that eventually revealed itself to me.
I mean, I could see her being diametrically opposed to the Health Care Bill, that’s fine. Even expressing a certain amount of joy if the Individual Mandate was indeed struck down. But the sheer excitement that she exhibited from being incorrectly told that millions of people would no longer be eligible for health care – yeah, there’s something else was going on there.
Look, I know what you’re thinking, Jean Schmidt has a history of being a steaming pile of shit: From calling a 38 year Marine Corps veteran and Vietnam war hero John Murtha a “coward“, to saying easily debunkable things like “For every 33 pregnant women that walk into a Planned Parenthood clinic, 32 receive an abortion.” Even exposing herself as a birther. To quote something Keith Olbermann once said about her, “If it’s wrong, you can count on Congresswoman Schmidt to defend it. If it hurts people, you can count on Congresswoman Schmidt to champion it.” So I know we aren’t exactly dealing with someone who is a beacon for all that’s right and good in the world.
But just like the countless Tea Party rallies filled with people in desperate need of both teeth and a civics lesson, angrily protesting against policies that would make their pitiful existences a lot better. Republicans weirdly celebrating America not getting the Olympics just because Barack Obama was our President. Jean Schmidt’s jubilant hysteria when being told that the Individual Mandate was struck down. All this is about racism. Hating Obama. Wanting that black bastard in the White House to get his comeuppance by any means necessary. I mean, the Individual Mandate was a Republican idea – and the guy she’ll be happily voting for in November was the architect of that shit – so apparently she doesn’t hate it that much. So yeah, while everyone else laughed at a truly bad person making an ass of herself – I just saw another bigot whose hatred of a black man exceeds her love of their country.
“I just saw another bigot whose hatred of a black man exceeds her love of their country.” – right on the money
Jean Schmidt is a terrible person and awful Congressman. That said, this article was even worse. People can support or oppose Obama and Obamacare for numerous reasons besides race.
@Tabitha You are right, people can oppose Obamacare for various reasons. But when you factor in the fact that she will be voting for the architect of Obamacare come November, she’s a birther, and that most GOP recalcitrance is solely based on race – what else could it be? Come on Tabby, don’t be such a naive jackass.
