Dylan Ratigan is leaving MSNBC. From the New York Times:
Dylan Ratigan, the opinionated and sometimes hotheaded television host, is leaving MSNBC, the cable channel where he has worked for the last three years.
Mr. Ratigan, whose news analysis show is now broadcast at 4 p.m. Eastern time, said in a telephone interview that he was electing to leave cable so that he could put into practice what he has talked about on TV. Mr. Ratigan has attacked political systems, corporations and special interests on his show and promoted movements for job creation, bank reform and campaign finance reform in the past.
Don’t let the door hit you on the way out, motherfucker. Ok, that was a bit rude, especially considering that the news media landscape is rife with inept and lazy individuals who couldn’t give a shit about actual journalism – picking on Dylan seems a little misguided. That said, let me proceed to pick on Dylan. For one thing, the guy was a false equivalency machine. If Joe Scarborough has a black belt in false equivalencies, Dylan Ratigan is on some “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” shit. Also, whenever he had a guest who in any way praised Obama too much for his liking, with machine gun delivery he’s let loose a string of grievances that he had with our Commander in Chief. Which is fine, but more times than not it would usually end up being policies that even the son of God would have a tough time getting through this Congress – proving that he either knows dick about actual governance, or he just doesn’t care how intellectually dishonest he’s being. He knew how to dupe liberals though, I’ll give him that. Well, I guess that’s what political charlatans and flim flam men do – ladies and gentlemen whose sole purpose is to distract silly liberals by focusing on one thing they may care about: “Drones!” – “Ron Paul.. weed!” – “Get money out of politics!” Because a lot of liberals could teach a masters class on taking their eye off the ball, he suckered his fair share of folks during his tenure at MSNBC.
Lastly, him getting the fuck out of dodge means that we’ll never be subjected to those awkward exchanges between him and Martin Bashir again. It’s some of creepiest shit that I’ve ever been privy to, and that’s saying a lot considering my porn collection. I’ve seen walks of shame with more grace. Now, if only Joe Scarborough would box up his shit as well…
LOLOLOLOL Ow. Sides hurt. LOL. Especially the Bashir/Ratigan hand-off banter. LOL
