Calling out Karl Rove: It’s a good start, but..

The video that the Obama campaign produced the other week, the one where Stephanie Cutter takes on a Karl Rove’s “Crossroads GPS” ad, was what I characterize as a “good start“. To be honest,  it’s refreshing to hear Democrats call out Karl Rove by name, shedding some light on the shadowy group that thrives on undisclosed donations, lies, and possibly puppy torture. But it hardly goes far enough in my eyes.  I’ve always felt that the best way to combat Karl Rove’s group was to put the man described as “Bush’s Brain” directly on front street. I mean, since it’s highly unlikely that any outside Democratic group will ever come close to matching “Crossroads GPS” dollar for dollar – not with racist Billionaires cavalierly dropping millions of dollars like they’re at a sub par strip club – so I always figured that publicly prosecuting the man behind them would be the second best thing. I can see a scenario, with targeted buys, where you air ads citing shitloads of Karl Rove sins chapter and verse – from the smearing of Max Cleland, the smearing of John McCain,  every George W. Bush transgression that you can hang around turdblossom’s (what Bush affectionately called him) neck. Basically every lie, distortion, and dirty trick that comes to mind. I figure that enough ads like that, every time someone sees a commercial with the “Crossroads GPS” logo – people will automatically know that it’s a steaming pile of donkey shit. Just a thought.
